Several months ago, I was looking for images to put on the about me page of my website. I searched through hundreds of images looking for ones of my daughters and I. I didn’t have any. Sure I had snapshots and quick ones from family photo sessions, but there was not a single image that really showed the love I have for my girls.
I started thinking, God forbid, if something happened to me tomorrow, what would my daughters have of me? I want each of my girls to have an image of us together that shows my love for her. One that she will always have so that even if I am not here, she will know that I will always be with her.
This year I turned thirty. I told my husband that all I wanted to do for my thirtieth birthday was to give of myself. I wanted to do something that was totally selfless. I wanted to bless others. I have always known that one day I was going to go on a mission. I have always known that I was going to do something that involved helping children. I just didn’t know what, when or where that would be.
I am so excited to say that in November, I will be traveling with Dando Amor to Ecuador. “Photographers Travis Gugelman and his wife Jennie along with Lori Nordstrom started Dando Amor for a way to allow other photographers to be personally involved in helping children live better, fuller lives.” (From the Dando Amor website.) I urge you to please check out Dando Amor at www.dandoamor.com. In order to get there, I need your help.
I want to honor all the amazing, beautiful mothers out there. I want to give you something that is beautiful, something that will be forever a reminder of how much you love your children and how beautiful and precious that gift is. On June 2nd, I am offering a limited number of photography sessions honoring mothers. This is for mothers young and old. There is no charge for the session. All I am asking is that you donate something, anything, whatever you can to help me reach my goal. Please check out my website: www.mothers.brendavanphotos.com for more information.
I have always wanted to be involved in something that was so much bigger than myself. I truly believe that God has put me on this path and has given me the gifts I need in order to see it through. I am so honored and blessed by everyone in my life. Thank you for your support.

I cannot even express in words what a blessing this is!
Brenda, just when I think you can’t possibly become anymore awesome, you do!!
